An Arpeggiator That Goes Way Beyond
Most arpeggiators give you Up, Down, and maybe Random. Snorkel's Arpeggiator is a fully programmable note engine with 16 play modes, a step-by-step gate grid, and deep randomization that generates arpeggio ideas you'd never write yourself.
Programmable Gate Pattern Grid
A 16-step grid gives you precise control over every arpeggiator step. Four rows let you choose what happens on each beat: play a specific chord note, trigger the full chord, follow the arp mode, or anchor on the root. Steps with nothing active stay silent. The result is rhythmic complexity that goes well beyond a simple note cycle — you can build syncopated grooves, stuttering rhythms, and melodic hooks right inside the arpeggiator.
Deep Randomization
Hit randomize and get a completely new arpeggiator configuration — mode, gate pattern, chord voicing, rate, and all. The randomization engine is designed to produce musically useful results, not noise. Every generated parameter is fully editable, so you can keep what works and tweak the rest. It's the fastest way to discover arpeggio ideas you'd never come up with manually.
Flexible Chord Input
Feed the arpeggiator from built-in chord types — triads, sevenths, sus chords, 9ths, 11ths — or use incoming MIDI from your DAW. Voicing options (Close, Open, Drop, Wide, Auto) shape how notes spread across octaves. Add bass notes below the chord, lock a pedal bass to the root, or strip it down to a single note. The chord is your raw material; the arpeggiator turns it into movement.
16 Arpeggiator Modes
Go far beyond the usual Up/Down patterns. Snorkel's Arpeggiator includes 16 distinct modes — Up, Down, Up-Down, Down-Up, Converge, Diverge, Thirds, Skip, Pedal, Thumb, Spiral, Add One, Double, Stutter, Random, and As Played. Each mode produces a different melodic contour from the same chord input, giving you instant variation without touching a single note.
16 Independent Scenes
Each arpeggiator scene has its own chord input, mode, rate, gate length, octave range, and gate pattern — completely independent from every other scene. Build up to 16 different arpeggio variations, then sequence them over time using Snorkel's built-in Sequencer. What starts as a single arp idea can evolve into a full arrangement.
Its Own Synth Engine
The Arpeggiator has a dedicated synth engine with three oscillators, dual filters, four LFOs, four envelopes, an FX chain, and a step modulator — all independent from the other modules. Shape the arpeggiator's sound without affecting anything else. Every synth parameter can be randomized too.
